On Monday, a Virgin Atlantic 747-400 made a successful emergency landing into Gatwick airport. Shortly after takeoff, the Las Vegas bound jet experienced a gear failure, and the right outboard main landing gear was stuck in the retracted position. After circling Southern England for approximately 4 hours to troubleshoot and burn off fuel, the 747 touched down safely at Gatwick.
