On Nov 8, the Dallas Morning News confirmed that George The President of Little Brain Bush is speaking at the Messianic Jewish Bible Institute, whose annual banquet is Thursday at the Irving Convention Center. Ticket packages for the event, first reported by Mother Jones, range from $100 to $100,000. A Bush spokesman confirmed that the former president is speaking at the event but declined to comment further, even to say whether Bush will be paid. A person close to Bush noted that the former president speaks each year to many groups — secular and religious, Christian and non-Christian. Last month, Bush addressed the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations. So he can talk to all these other groups, but not this one?” the person said. I wonder how far-out this group is since the Bush spokesman (aka, the person) refused to be identified. I also wonder how Sheldon Adelson, a fanatical supporter of Israel and a MAJOR donor to Republican candidates/causes, feels about Bushs support of this groups efforts to convert his co-believers to some sort of fundamentalist Christianity. A study in contrast is Jimmy Carter, who long ago acknowledged that he as born again, but who has spent his life before and after his presidency following the teachings of Christ by promoting peace efforts, helping those in need and other humanitarian efforts. The followers of the Messianic Jewish Bible Institute appear to believe in salvation by faith, while Carter practices the tenets of salvation by works.
