On October 6, 2014, I stood at the bedside of my best friend and the love of my life as he went home to be with The Lord. As hard as it was I am so grateful that I had the opportunity to hold his hand and tell him one more time just how much I loved him as I watched him close his eyes and transform from a sick cancer patient to the most loving peaceful man that carried my heart right to heaven with him!!!! I will always imagine his handsome smile as joy exploded from his heart when he fell on his face at Our Masters feet!!! What a beautiful home going celebration for a much deserved Man of God and my dear sweet husband, Joseph Jump!!!! Thank you Pastor Jeremiah Hosford, Pastor Carol Renfroe, and my son Pastor Josh Gentle for making Wednesday October 8, 2014 one of the most memorable days of my life!!!!! I am a very blessed woman with such an awesome family and more caring friends than I could have ever dreamed of!!! From the visits, phone calls, text messages, face-book comments, cards, food, donations, flowers, and one of the longest lines that Ive ever seen at a Funeral Home just to show our family so much love, honor, and respect was absolutely breath taking!!!! The awesome performance and participation from our Abundant Life Praise Team, my precious grand daughter Kaygwynn honoring her Papas request with her dancing, along with Jayla White on the sax and Mrs. Jennifer Wiley on the keyboard, Chris Edwards, Robert Jeffcoat, Jimmy Banks, Fred Weeter, Bruce Cave, and Victor James, as pallbearers with my grandson Brenson Nichols as the junior pallbearer escorted by my son Todd Nichols....you all made everything so special!!! To Sherrell-Westbury Funeral Home for a job well done!!! Sheriff Gary Long and The Butts County Sheriffs Office, I thank you for hard work, your kind words, your thoughts and prayers!!! And to my own......Sheriff Donnie Pope, CSU Sgt. Billy Bryant, Sgt. Russell White, K9 Deputy Patrick Carey, Deputy Keith Standifer, Investigator Amantae Sands, 911 Director Melissa Slocumb, Fire Chief Jarret Slocumb, 911 Dispatch Supervisor Teresa Wood, 911 Dispatchers Patti Hulsey, Teresa Tyler, and James Westbrook, along with Katy Westbrook, Ed Westbrook, and Michelle Haddock for showing such love and respect as everyone exited our church!!!! I know my husband was smiling down with thankfulness in his heart while he watched roads being blocked as he was being escorted to his final burial destination by his Blue & Red light friends!!!! To the Military Officers for your service and presenting me with my husbands flag; we salute you!!!! And to my church family who showed such love and kindness by preparing and feeding our family and friends after the service, well you all rocked just as you always do!!!!! I also want to thank all of my fellow co-workers at the Jasper County Sheriffs Office and the Jasper County 911 Center for always having my back, covering my shifts, and always understanding and being there for me when I had to be there for Joe!!!! May God Bless each and every one of you for your love, support, and generosity!!! Much love to all, Betty Jump & Family
