{On Root Causes} When it comes to digestive distress, there are a wide variety of things that can be causative or contributing factors. In many cases, it is not simply ONE thing that is creating disturbance, but a combination of many. Among these causes are: Eating foods that your body is sensitive to Eating foods that are inherently allergenic/inflammatory/provocative Eating too few of the right foods and too many of the wrong, for you Hospitalizations requiring IV antibiotics Antibiotic use, PPI use or other medications or foods that disturb the gut flora Pathogenic infection (yeast, parasite, harmful bacteria, dysbiosis) Loss of integrity of the digestive lining Intestinal barrier function (IBF) compromise Stress, chronic/unremitting including mental, emotional and physical AND being under slept. …and this is just a short list. Those of you with chronic problems would do well to go down this list and address each of the points :)
