On Saturday, August 10 (1 week today), there are multiple AR events taking place. We are allied with all of them and believe each should have a positive turnout as every animal in need is important. From 11 am to 1 pm, there is a demonstration at the Stouffville Country Market to protest the cruel handling of livestock that takes place on the premises. Free Limba advocates are heavily involved in this campaign and believe it is an important issue in our region. The contact person for this is Heather Clemenceau. From 11:45-1, there is a demonstration at the CN Tower to stand against the importation of wild caught sharks for the new Toronto Aquarium. The contact for this is ARK II, Animal Rights Kollective. Because these two demos are conflicting, please try to make whichever is more convenient for you. Finally, from 2-4 pm will be a protest at the Bowmanville Zoo. This will not be the original planned vigil, but because many guests wish for it to continue, it will. You can contact our page for info or also contact Terri Martell.
