On Saturday: The Vernon Historical & Genealogical Society will meet Saturday, Jan. 3 at 12:30 p.m. in the meeting room of the Vernon Parish Library. There will be discussions concerning the 2015 upcoming meetings, and Jim Huggins will present a monthly learner of his choice. The Heritage Family Association will meet Saturday, Jan. 3, at 3 p.m. in the meeting room of the Vernon Parish Library. Discussions will cover the election of 2015 HFA officers, 2015 membership dues and the book 1940: Last Year Home, Stories of the Heritage Families of Camp Polk and Peason Ridge. #vernonparish
