On Saturday the 30th of August the IIHA played a charity game against Northern Ireland Selects. This game was being held to raise much needed funds for a severely autistic boy who needs an assistance dog. The game, being played at Dundonald Arena, was a well played and hard fought battle from the drop of the puck. Both teams played with the intention of winning but had the spirit of fair play throughout. Although Paul Cummins & Aaron Cuskeran may have taken the inadvertent knock. It certainly went to the waining moments of the game with the NI Selects pulling out a 4-2 victory. Well done to the NI Selects. It was a well deserved victory. I would like to take this time to thank those involved in this event. A big thanks to Alan McNeice who undertook organizing this event. Alan did an amazing job in promoting and getting everything set up and ready to go. It was Alans drive and determination that got this game put together. Thanks from everyone Alan. I would like to thank Jana and Mark for volunteering to ref the game, Dundonald Arena for donating the ice for the game, & to everyone else who donated prizes for the raffle. I would personally like to thank all the supporters that cam from near and far to make this such a great night. It not only meant a lot to all those that participated in the game but it really showed what the hockey community can achieve. Thanks to Ned Dowd, aka Oggie Ogilthorpe, for taking time out of his busy schedule to take part in the game. Thank you to IHNI, IHUK, and the IIHA for their support of this event. Lastly I would like to thank all the players who took part. It was a great game from all and I know we all look forward to having more games like that in the future. Sincerely, Aaron Guli President IIHA
