On September 23 , the Constitutional Court delivered its judgment Dominican Republic 168-13 , which indeed supports peremptorily Article 18 of our Constitution in its latest version (promulgated in January 2010 ), which imposes new precept of jus sanguinis or right of blood as a principle for acquiring Dominican nationality. This provision grants citizenship solely on the basis of blood ties, and requires that at least one parent , a national Dominican. In contrast, the 1858 Constitution of Moca , required that both parents possessed Dominican blood to be favored with our citizens. Indeed, both the amendment to our Constitution in 2010 and the verdict of the Constitutional Court , trying to correct the mistake that was made with the provision of the right to land or jus solis , the Constitution of 1929 , which granted Dominican nationality every person born within the national territory. In a despicable act of foreign meddling , many international organizations and NGOs , under the law 47-01 of 1957 are also foreign agents ( because they receive international financial support) , condemned the failure of our highest legal authority , with a fan and deployment passionate, and without the slightest respect for our sovereignty and our laws , and without the slightest interest in learning about our history, our present, and as harmful conditions that we have tested with a peaceful invasion that weighs so extraordinary about our resources , our security and our sovereignty.
