On September 28, 2013 at approximately 950pm Officers of the Hope Police Department were called to the 2600 block of North Hazel Street, to the Triple J Truckstop, in Hope, in reference to an Aggravated Robbery. Upon arrival, the clerk told officers that she was taking the trash out to the dumpster when an unknown black male wearing a black hoodie and black jogging pants approached her. The suspect produced a handgun and told her to go inside the store and get all the money and a carton of Newport cigarettes. The clerk entered the store retrieved money from the register, a trash bag, and the cigarettes. The clerk put the money and the cigarettes in the bag and proceeded outside. The suspect was crouched down beside the door and as soon as the clerk exited the door he demanded the merchandise. The clerk gave the trash bag to the suspect and he fled eastbound from the store on foot. The suspect is described as a black male with braids or dreadlocks in his early to mid-twenties. Officers attempted to locate the suspect but were unsuccessful in doing so.
