On September 3rd 2013 our 14 (now 15) year old son had an Arterial Cruciate Ligament reconstuction operation. In the months preceding the op Robert was on Collagen and 5 a day plus. Collagen to help build up the muscles around the knee and the hamstring which was to be used to replace the ligament that had snapped. He is still on both collagen and 5 a day plus. Four weeks after the op the physio has commented on how well the scars are healing and was amazed today on the amount of movement he has in his knee.The target for todays session was 120 degree bend in the knee and he reached 127 degrees. After undergoing various excercises the physio was amazed at the progress that has been made and that he hadnt had a pain killer before the session. I know things must not be rushed and I am wondering if he will be back to contact sport within the general 9 months rehabilition which even top sports people undergo after having the same op, these include Paul Gascoigne, Micheal Owen and Alan Shearer.
