On Sunday 18th, in the arvo, the newest SEQ parkrun will be holding a trial parkrun - just 6 days before they launch on 24th January - all are invited to come along to Tamborine Mountain parkrun and join in the fun at either the trial or the launch. Now the trial on Sunday is to help the new event team get used to the kit, the process and iron out any problems with the route - it wont count as an official parkrun (but you can log it as a freedom parkrun) and you will have the kudos of running the first trial run on this new course and helping another great parkrun get themselves ready to launch I have walked and measured the course myself and can really recommend it if you are looking for something different. It is almost all on grass/woodland trail and it has a few inclines that mean you will get a good workout going up/down about 80m over the complete course. The trial parkrun starts at 4pm on Sunday 18th at the grounds of Tamborine Mountain Sports Complex (on Long Road, a couple of k beyond Gallery Walk). There is a map and some directions here parkrun.au/tamborinemountain/course/ There is lots to do in the area so you have a chance to go wine or food tasting, shopping or visit to the Glow Worm caves or vineyards before finishing off your day with a delightfully different 5km course Please note that due to the inclines and paths it will be a tough course for those pushing buggies (and they would need to be the robust ones). You also need footwear with good grip to cope with the change of surface types and slopes. Hope to see some Brisbane parkrunners there for the Trial on Sunday 18th at 4pm and/or the launch on Saturday 24th at 7am. Best wishes to you all and to Vince Mckillop the new ED and all the team at Tamborine Mountain, Alan & Roisin.
