On Sunday, September 15, 2013 at approximately 2:30 a.m. an altercation occurred between two men in the area of King St. and Caroline St. Hamilton. The altercation escalated quickly when one man stabbed the other. The 18 year old victim David Pereira was transported to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. 49 year old suspect was arrested at the scene by police. As a result the Homicide Unit was called in to investigate and have charged 49 year old Raleigh Stubbs with First Degree Murder. Mr. Stubbs has been remanded into custody and will appear in court Monday. Police were called to Mr. Stubbs residence earlier in the evening as he was involved in a different altercation. This incident took place in the area of Bay St. and Market St. Hamilton. Detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances of both incidents to determine whether they are linked in any way. Update………. The Homicide Unit is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding this incident and would like to speak to individuals who may have been involved in an earlier altercation with Mr.Stubbs. The altercation may have involved two men and two women and took place in a parking lot at Bay Street and Market Street.
