On Thursday evening Ness County Fire District 1 was paged out for a report of a drilling rig on fire. Fire was reported to be approximately 3 miles north of Beeler. Ness City and Beeler trucks arrived on scene and quickly had the fire extinguished. Fire units stayed on scene a while longer to make sure the fire was out. Also on scene was Ness County Ambulance out of Ness City for medical standby and the Ness County Sheriffs Office. No injuries were reported from this fire. Very good work to all involved in this fire.
