On Wednesday October 29th Detective Morris was conducting traffic enforcement in the school zone near the middle school. Det Morris observed a vehicle traveling faster than the speed limit and observed several equipment violations. Det Morris conducted a traffic stop with the vehicle for the violations. The male driver was found to have several suspensions on his license. During the investigation our Detective found the males story to be questionable. It was later determined through good police work the male had recently broken into a shed at a nearby residence and had stolen multiple items. The male was ultimately charged with receiving stolen property, breaking and entering (felony 5), driving under suspension, unauthorized use of plates, and unsafe vehicle. He was booked into the county jail and received a bond of $10,000 for the charges. Great police work by our detective and other dayturn officers.
