On Wednesday, the guerilla reporter, undercover journalist James O’Keefe, released a Project Veritas Action video that showed three Colorado Democrats on hidden camera advocating voter fraud in the state’s all mail-in ballot election. O’Keefe, who is probably best known for the undercover videos that led to the disbandment of the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, or ACORN, this time targeted Colorado, a state with several tight political races. Among those caught on tape was Meredith Hicks, a director for the nonprofit group Work For Progress. On its website, the group describes itself as “dedicated to strengthening social change organizations and progressive campaigns that work for social justice, a fair economy, consumer protections, clean energy, and the environment.” “If they are not eligible to vote, and all these people are throwing out ballots, let’s use those ballots to vote. So we can get as many votes as possible,” O’Keefe suggested to Hicks. “Yes, definitely,” she replied. “We don’t just want to discard the ballots. So I think that that’s what we’re going to do,” O’Keefe pressed on. “And I think that can make the difference in this election.” “I agree,” Hicks said. “You’re totally right.” “I mean they cheat and lie and steal all the time,” O’Keefe said, apparently speaking of the Republican opposition. “I mean, that’s not even lying and stealing,” Hicks replied. We note that Hicks didn’t argue that such a process wasn’t cheating. “If someone throws out the ballot, if you want to fill it out, you should do it,” she added. In fact, Hicks appeared to like the idea so much, she offered the undercover journalist a job at Work for Progress. The video also contained footage of workers with Greenpeace and the campaign of Democrat state Rep. Joe Salazar. The unnamed paid Greenpeace staffer, upon being told that the reporter planned to mail in fraudulent ballots, wholeheartedly approved. “I mean, it’s putting the votes to good use. So really, truly, like, yeah, that’s awesome,” she said. She approved of the plan so much that she offered an idea for where additional discarded ballots might be found. She suggested “ghetto Aurora.” “They just, kind of like, the lower class. They just don’t really, people don’t care. I would say northern Aurora. African-American and Mexicans,” she said of the people living there. The Joe Salazar campaign representative, Nicole Hanlon, was less enthusiastic, but certainly did not discourage the journalist’s plan to allow voters to mail in two ballots – one to Oregon and one to Colorado. “I think you can try it out,” she said. “I don’t know if it will work, but you can try it.” We expect a statement at any time from President Barak Obama declaring that the Colorado electoral process is free from even a smidgeon of corruption.
