On a more serious note, Im extremely disappointed (to put it mildly) in how Gabe was handled today. If this was the plan for today (as it was and I picked up on pieces of it on Wednesday) some respect for him as an individual should have been exorcised beforehand and options should have been lain out. He doesnt want your sympathy, but I do believe he commands your respect and deserves it. Hes not retarded, just blind, his mind functions as normally as everyone else, and sometimes, such as a circumstance as this, surpasses it. I dont understand why people dont get that. He should have been spoken to well beforehand as an individual with merit, so that he could have made the decision for himself if his time was to be wasted, as like anyone else, he doesnt like to be jerked around. In case people dont know, he doesnt have the ability to see whats going on around him, make observations and judgments based on them. Shame on everyone involved for not respecting him as an individual.
