On a personal note, theres one thing that Im particularly proud of as a result of this election: Even when I was told to speak about soft issues that grab attention (which truthfully, a senator could tackle alone as opposed to a president), I remained loyal to vision that many people of the Newark campus were proud to support me for. For all the false accusations made about me to distract me, I never strayed away from things that I know have been hurting students since I got here and I doubt will effectively get addressed for years to come. Indeed, a title doesnt make you a leader, but the reality is that people respect titles and titles hold clout. My intentions were to lead the campus through a stronger SGA to a better route with the intimate knowledge that I have about our campus. In my heart, I dont feel Ive truly lost because I was never doing this for an extra line on my resume, but I feel that the persons that have lost are the ones that nobody campaigned for. Our diplomas value is only as good as the weakest link that acquires it and so long as that point is subtly or directly ignored by the SGA (even if the whole org forever denies it, which they have an inherent incentive to save face), more unfortunate things will continue to happen like Rutgers Business School being ranked by Bloomberg almost 100 places lower at an undergrad level in less than a year. I tried my best to make these points known, but the voters had another vision for our school. Ill continue to do what I do, which is advocate for students as best as I can, like I will tomorrow at our Nations Congress in Washington DC to maintain our Federally Funded programs funded and protected.
