On a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being the absolute worst thing that has ever happenned to me, Bob passing away), and 1 being dropping my cell phone in the toilet, todays adventure ranks a solid three. Today, my new (!p4il 27th installed) microwave went up in flames. Yes, my microwage set itself on fire while I was using the timer feature to time cookies in the oven. first the kitchen began to smell odd then the smoke alarm went off, upon my arrival in the kitchen, flames were dancing merrily in the microwage. I threw open the dorr to the upstair hall and screamed for John (who was in the shower). Half-naked dripping son appears. Im on phone with fire dept.. I hand him the box of baking soda and fire is out. Im still on the phone with the dispatcher who apparently cannot understand the street name Fenton. when I tell her the fire is out, she insists on sending a crew anyway to check to see if there is any fire in the walls. I will say, the City of Buffalo has some hot looking young firefighters these days. So I am microwaveless for the next two weeks since Sears cant send a repairman (its still under warrenty) until Nov 8.
