On a serious note , Being a Singer/Entertainer is a lot of peoples Dream Job . I wonder how many of the dreamers have a clue about the reality of what we do ? Buying The Equipment ( Costly ) Treading the uphill path to find Gigs and Show Your Talent . The Loading of the gear , the getting ready , the travel ,the unloading at the venue often carrying the gear a long way from the parking area , the setting up , the sound check , the getting changed for each set , the many times the Ent Sec doesnt even Know your name !! Not being told its a Party , The Actual Performance !! Times No Where near adhered to , packing down , carrying the gear back to the vehicle often Struggling to get through unthinking folk that insist on standing in doorways even though they see your carrying heavy stuff . Then of course THE DISAPPEARANCE of whomsoever is supposed to pay you . Then the journey back and the unloading and putting away of the Gear . Finally the trying to shut the brain down cos if its been a good night youre buzzing and if its a bad one you keep going over what you could have done differently ? UNLESS you love this mad cap Career and youre prepared for INSULTS as well as Applause , steer Clear !! Im Lucky , I love it !! Not meant to be Negative , just Realistic xx
