On a very real note, I hope all of you see me or will soon come to see me as your friend and your confidante. Have confidence that I am here to listen to and help all of you. I do not judge. You can have faith that what is said to me is said in confidence. If you were at the speeches at lunch on Thursday, you might have noticed I may not be THE BEST speaker. However, cultivating personal relationships and problem-solving in small groups is something I excel at. I am a mediator, and it is what I love to do. The Honor Council is responsible for the administration of the procedures set forth in the Honor Code created and adopted by the students, and the interpretation of the Code. You want to elect someone to the Honor Council you believe will uphold these values and standards. You also want to elect someone you can trust and who you are comfortable speaking with. In the short time we have been here I have met inspiring, intelligent, and loving people, and I promise to defend each one of you. I hold myself to very high standards, but I also strive adamantly to remember that this life is beautiful & it need not be difficult; Love yourself, and love everyone else just as much. I strive to understand others and recognize we all come from very different places and backgrounds, and I will take this philosophy with me as a member of your 1L Honor Council. I am dedicated to this position and believe I would be an excellent one of your choices for the 1L Honor Representative Council position.
