On behalf of CLD, I wanted to be the one to write this up. Ive been with SkyWest almost 9 years and its been a great ride over the years. In 2006 I was just an inspiring guy who was ready to get into aviation and learn how to fly... 8 years later, Ive met great aviation professionals, life long friends and obtained a Commercial Pilots license along with completing a Bachelors of Science program in Aviation Management! SkyWest back then was the place to be and I felt like the luckiest guy in the world (as most new hires do) haha ... But the friends Ive made at CLD and throughout the system will forever be a big piece of me. You can take the Brasilia out the airport but not out of the heart and memories that were created. I think no... I KNOW CLD has always stood out from the other stations. We have always kept the bar high and standards tight with little to no room for negotiations. Ive always felt we have a reputation to keep and will never settle for less when pax and crews come through CLD! We ensure we keep more of a friend relationship with our crews and passengers and not your typical standard employee vs customer or ramper vs crew! That BS doesnt fly around here and wont ever on my watch. As most know, I ran I tight shift and never settled for less. We all did, team CLD is all about staying ahead of the curve rather it be ALWAYS setting up the ramp, having the pax boarded out side ready to go during IROPS along with turning in the CLR the second that cabin door opens, driving the crew to hotel because the shuttle was anywhere from a minute to five minutes behind! Delivering pax delayed bags after hours, making coffee for pax, transporting one of the most premier pax in the OO system, driving troops to their base, buying broke families dinner who had just enough money to buy a ticket, being proactive and nipping delays / possible delays hours away so we dont take delays... CLD probably calls LAX and SGU more than anyone to ensure that we are all in this together as a team, not a line station! Our stellar ground crew, flight crew and passengers will be missed but the memories will live forever. Thank you all for all the great support, love and friends n memories along the way and a big shout out to all the crews who we partied with at the crew hotels and the shenanigans associated! CLD, one of the last true SkyWest Airline stations standing strong, have always remained strong and always will! Thank you all. See you in the skies!
