On behalf of the entire Makerere University Students fraternity, we would wish to congratulate all fellow Makerereans who have made through this great and mighty University of Africa.At the same time, we take this time to remember our comrades who joined with us but have not been able to see this day!(Moment of silence for a minute) We thank our parents, guardians, benefactors and the university work force who have been so instrumental in seeing us progress to this day. It is the 65th Graduation Ceremony and we indeed thank you graduands for the:Time, Courage, Endurance, Commitment, Energy and Hardwork you invested in to reach this day. As the 80th Guild, we have very profound memory of each one of you.We thank you for the love you have for Makerere University and particularly StudentsGuild.As the saying goes, ...once Makerere, Forever Makererean...By so saying, your graduation today doesnt mean you have ceased to be a Makererean, No! You have just joined another calibre of the great men and women who have passed through this University for the past more than six decades. That being said, we believe most of you are graduating but with a lot uncertainties in your mind.That is not new nor starting with only you! It is totally true and normal for any living human being to fear the unknown.But for you, we want you to get out of the great gate with peace and tranquility of the mind. The song out there is that No jobs in Uganda for the masses of graduands every year.This may be true but again depending on what one considers a job.If you believe there is no job for you despite your graduation, we pray that before getting out of the gate, first go any of the worship centres in Makerere University(St.Augustine, St.Francis and the Mosque at the Main gate). While there, dont complain to God of what you dont want but first thank Him for what you have achieved. After so doing, this should and MUST be every graduands prayer before you leave Makerere Gates,...MAY GOD GRANT YOU FAVOUR IN THE WORLD, MAY GOD GIVE YOU THE SPIRIT OF CREATIVITY, MAY GOD PROTECT FROM THE EVIL EYES THAT AWAIT YOU IN THE WORLD... Add on whatever you wish or as the spiritual leader will pray for you. As for now, we know each of you has a plan to embark on right away.But it is worth mentioning that most of our sisters out there may be thinking of getting married at any cost, Yes, it is not bad to get married but do not just go with any man out there nor get married just to survive. You are a now a graduate (moreover from Makerere) and we request you dont cheapen your life.The desparacy you put in looking for a man, channel it to employment.
