On development and (d)evolution: The dark side of political rhetoric Not so long ago, when a wise man of 19th century succinctly drew a line of development of species (read human) from the commencement upto his times, he called it evolution. The etymology of the word leaves enough room for its similarity/snonymity with that of the word-in-vogue some people mistakenly expect political parties of India to attribute and fix a meaning for (read development). Every wisdom has its shortcomings, so had the wisemans. His learned eye missed a significant point in the entire picture while holding up a mirror (which he accidentally found in a cave with thousands of years of dust on it) to the taxonomic group of which he himself happened to a part, i.e. what to do with the monster that they had put their faith in.(read god). Sustainability would be impossible without seeking refuge under the foot of this monster. Subsequent to this episode, a wise precedent from the same lineage of thought realized the inseparable union of the monster and the human and thus he publically claimed of having killed the monster. It is also possible that the monster had died a natural death. The situation we are confronted with is twofold: the discovery of a rectilinear line of evolution wasnt a sudden accident perhaps as the term itself suggests; rather it was gradual but unintended development that shaped transformed the physique of a mammal with slight alterations. The mammal who must or mustnt have realized the change in his appearance and certainly wouldnt have intended to be called by a bizarre name like human (the politics of name etc. has to be kept in view here). But fate unusually had walked upto the mammal. As mentioned supra, every wisdom has drawbacks, so had the ones who came to us with a bad news of gods death. However, a passerby on the same dark night of gods death stopped at the cave (the same cave where the mirror was found) of monster and realized that , A shape with lion body and the head of a man of whose death rumors had reached to his ears, was not actually dead but it had fallen asleep- a “stony sleep. As the parabolic order suggests, every beginning after reaching to a certain horizon meets a downfall, so perhaps the evolution has perhaps reached to its peak-point and now it has to meet its fate, which once had come to the mammal without announcing its arrival. The rough beast that we have awakened from centuries of stony sleep, its hour come round at last, Slouches towards Bethlehem to be born? We are moving towards another evolution- a reverse one- where the human will (re)transform into the mammal. However, this time the monster will not have the threat of being killed, or in that case, of being declared dead--mistakenly; instead the mammal to accomplish his long pending task will accompany the monster.
