On instructions of JKDF State President Sh. Anil Gupta a deputation led by JKDF District President Mr. Arun Khanna today met Executive Engineer P.H.E Mr. A.K Gupta to present a memorandum and apprise him about the growing scarcity of drinking water besides inadequate infrastructure of P.H.E Department to tackle the situation in this scorch summer in Jammu Division. In the memorandum it is submitted that in Jammu and its adjoining areas there are people who are still facing acute shortage of water supply due to inadequate infrastructure of P.H.E. Instead of focusing on improving the water supply system burden of tariff hike on poor masses has been thrust to make them suffer more. That consumption of water for use by the consumers for kitchen gardens and others and against those using the same for limited usage are the same without classification and therefore flat charges for all is illogical. Even there is no guarantee given for a supplying water free from water born diseases which would be said to be the basis for raising the water charges. The pressure in the pipes supplying the water to households is so low that it hardly reaches to the end consumer. The schedule for supply of water is not followed strictly instead in many areas the water is being supplied after 3 to 4 days duration. It is also submitted that water supply be regulated and to ensure that the consumers get sufficient amount of water which is natural source for the people of Jammu. The prominent persons who accompanies Mr. Arun Khanna for presentation of memorandum are Mr. Anmol Sethi, Mr. S.N Tak, Smt. Veenu Khanna, Mr. Ambedkar Gupta, Mr. Happy Sharma, Mr. Vivek Raja, Mr. Rohit Kerni, Mr.Aman Sharma, Mr. Shalin Gulati, Mr. Shub Chandra, Ravi Mehra, Suresh Dingra, Ashwani Sharma etc..
