On my way home from work on the Pali I saw some smoke and fire and pulled over to see if I could do anything. Another truck had pulled off in front of me and was running to the fire with his truck floor Matt to beat the fire out. It was my friend Marvin. I grabbed my office cooler water jug I keep in my truck to rinse off after surfing with and ran across traffic to fire. Marvin called 911. The fire had just been started and on purpose. There was a gas tank with flames shooting out the top and a bit smaller then half a basketball court smoldering with fire and hot spots. I hit all the open flames with water as Marvin was hitting other spots with truck floor matts. We got all the open flames out and waited for firetrucks and police to arrive. It was arson from the gas tank and its the only entrance down the cliff for fishermen and divers to use. Glad Marvin and I were there to help stop a bigger fire from spreading. Thanks to the maui fire department for a very speedy arrival. U guys have my utmost respect.
