On my way home tonight, right at my train station, while waiting on the platform... just one station away from home on the train...a person threw his or herself into the path of an oncoming express train shutting down my station for what would be a long time while the authorities did what needed to be done...in Japan, the preferred method of suicide is by train...nearly always works first time...few repeat tries....in any case, at first I was really annoyed, it was late, I was tired, just trying to make my way home...but then I remembered the tragic death of one of my all time favorite persons in August...Robin Williams...and how perhaps like Robin this person was suffering from severe depression and couldnt think his or her way out of it...the thought saddened me...I was no longer annoyed...I was saddened by the loss of life...a person who was so lonely, depressed that they felt life had no meaning...the tell of the tale is this my friends...if you know someone who is suffering from depression...for Gods sake, talk to them..fort them, help them to get help...let them know someone cares...so they dont wind up a statistic on some suicide list or on the notice board at a train station. P.S. In Japan, Human damage accident is shorthand for suicide.
