On paper, Dennis has all of the necessary qualifications to lead Toastmasters International to greater success. However, paper cannot convey Dennis’ infectious ability to inspire those around him to excel. That innate ability is why I believe he is the best candidate for the position. Talk to him for a few minutes, and you’ll see it too, I promise. Ever since I first met and worked with Dennis at the District 84 conference in 2008, I have seen him tirelessly promote and improve the Toastmasters experience for members and future members. He effortlessly pulled me into his orbit. Under his influence, I have attempted and accomplished things I never imagined. I am also grateful for all of the members I’ve had the opportunity to inspire along the way. Dennis is not someone who delegates then goes home. He’ll work twice as hard… because he believes in the outcome and enjoys making it come to fruition. And reach fruition it does. In my day job (which pays my mortgage), I’ve had bosses make ridiculous demands -- that I ignored. Dennis has easily convinced me to volunteer for all sorts of tasks (for free!)… because the goal is worthy. AND because he can pull together a team that enjoys working together.
