On second thought: Scriptures in the Vernacular For people that just dont get Olde English. God calls a meeting. He says he made men and women just like the people in Heaven and we fit together like two halves of a whole. He says family life wont be easy. He says He will send teachers among us to provide help to become happy regardless of how bad a job our parents and leaders do of raising us. He says that if we do what His authorize servants tell us we will get a grip on life and we will learn to be happy in spite of our surroundings and circumstances. We get to Earth and all hell breaks out! We get miserable. We decide to do what we want and when ever we feel like it . Things get worse! Some of us die in the confusion. Some us become criminals. Some of us make a mess of the lives of others while we are trying to rescue ourselves from each other. Very, very few get a clue. Generally things are fouled up beyond all recognition. We are hurt, unhappy, some of us in poor health, angry, want revenge and generally have no real hope for tomorrow. God sends help! Help looks funny, talks funny, tells us things we dont want to hear and we go about our way. At the same time there are a bunch of self proclaimed experts going about telling us what they want us to hear so we will do what they want. That makes things worse because they distract us from the authorized and endorsed teachers and we get even more confused and upset. Things get worse! God, being a great parent is patient and keeps reaching out to us. Eventually a few of us get it because we have tried everything else and decide that even though there is a price to be paid for following God if it works it has to be better than life the way we have lived it. The cost of being an idiot and making a mess of things just isnt worth the suffering. Some of the few begin to reach out to the hold outs and hard cases. They dont usually get it and why? Because they are not reading the Instruction Manual and following the instructions correctly. Many just quit trying and wander back to the things they know. They rot in their own juices! The ones that still dont get it but keep trying to make a better life for themselves are not easily discouraged. They are not overnight successes, but little by little they begin to see some progress. They get a clue. The new Old Ways that claim to be The Way gradually make sense. Life goes from being one big contradiction to something that begins to make sense and feels good in the process. It feels good, even though it still can be overwhelming when we do not consult the instruction manual often enough. Another generation comes along, refuses to learn from the mistakes of its elders and decides to reinvent the wheel every time it faces a challenge. They make the same mistakes and come up with a few more. The question becomes, will they live long enough to survive their own stupidity of will they make a total mess of things?
