On the 18th September 2014 , Scotland has a very important YES/NO decision to make on Independence- either way life in Scotland will change. For my part I am a confirmed YES supporter and under no illusions that there will be many challenges to overcome if the decision is YES, however I believe that the Scottish people have the skill sets and tenacity to ensure that we will succeed and that life in Scotland will improve. To my FB contacts that intend voting NO, Can I at least ask that you spend more than 2 minutes ( as per the BT broadcast) to question your reasons behind your decision. Hopefully the reasons for voting NO are not due to a dislike of either Alex Salmond or the SNP and at least be honest with yourselves that the real reason for voting NO is due to your belief that the risks are too great and/or that you have ABSOLUTELY NO FAITH IN THE SCOTTISH PEOPLE to overcome any challenges to make Scotland a better place to live. Anyone who votes NO and believes that Scotland will not face significant challenges,in my opinion are deluding themselves. Life in Scotland will NOT benefit from the rash of promises that have been paraded - all those promises will get watered down/tied up in red tape and never see the light of day and Scotland will be left at the mercy of any actions by Westminster, who will have been given a clear mandate to punish Scotland for their arrogance in thinking they were capable of running their own affairs ( Its not as though we can have a 3rd attempt any time soon - we were cheated in 1979 and will be decades ( if ever) that we get this opportunity to take control) My life philosophy is better to have tried and failed than never tried at all and it is for that reason I am voting YES and I hope that after reflection you will find the courage and honesty to change to a YES vote on Thursday. Feel free to share wide and far, to ensure we wake up on Friday 19th to a new Scottish future.
