On the 6th October 2014 we are going to tackle Mount Kilimanjaro. My cousin Jane Sheffield and I have decided to climb this in order to raise funds to support the research into Multiple Myeloma, a type of blood cancer, which our Uncle Fr.Dermot Burns of Straide, Foxford, Co.Mayo, a native of Ballaghaderreen has. He was diagnosed in January 2010. At present there is no cure for Multi Myeloma while it is treatable and manageable. Every new discovery is a possible cure. We are looking to raise as much funds as we can to support the research of our Uncles Consultant, Professor Michael O Dwyer-Professor of Haematology at NUI Galway into Multi Myeloma and we would be very grateful for any donation you can make towards this. Professor O Dwyer has world wide recognition in this field.
