On the Spotlight: UP Sandigan Alumni as delegates/scholars in the 3rd GPP International Training Program in Taipei, Taiwan UP Sandigan alumni Cristan Agaceta (Batch 2008) and Arianne Diane Aniñon (Batch 2011, Phoenix) are among the six Filipino Pharmacists who were awarded travel grant scholarships for the 3rd Good Pharmacy Practice (GPP) Training Programme for pharmacists around Asia organized by the Pharmaceutical Society of Taiwan (PST) through the Pharmaceutical Services and International Collaboration Integrated Project & FAPA Foundation last July 10 to 16, 2014 at the Taipei Medical University and the Taipei Veterans General Hospital, Taipei City, Taiwan. Another UP Sandigan alumnus, Mac Ardy Gloria (Batch 2007), was the only Filipino recent graduate who applied and was accepted for the first IPSF-APRO GPPEd program and was declared one of the four international ambassadors of GPP. With the aim of strengthening international collaboration and sharing their experience in pursuing higher standard of quality pharmaceutical services, PST had organized a 3-day seminar workshop and 1-day hospital-based learning experience to provide the scholars an opportunity to understand how pharmacists in Taiwan transformed their practice to align themselves to the GPP framework provided by the joint statement of the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) and the World Health Organization (WHO). Good job, Alumni! We are proud of you! Keep the fire burning! Other Filipino pharmacist delegates were Ms. Christine Aileen Ching (Asst. Professor, University of the Philippines), Ms. Maria Donnabelle Dean (Division Head, Pharmacy Program - Centro Escolar University-Makati), Ms. Jennifer Flores, (Vice President for Luzon, PPhA), and Ms. Cynthia Urgel (Chief Pharmacist, National Kidney and Transplant Institute). More of the event details, and of the Philippine delegates GPP plans shall be made available in the I Am A Pharmacist blog site SOON.
