On the day you were born, that first waking 24 hours was your entire life. Each passing minute stretches out and becomes a smaller fraction of your timeline of existence, each experience shifting your perspective of the minutes and hours, warping and appealing to that illusory feeling of relativity. Life, is this why, that through the great waves of emotion and love, in the ebbs and flows of an evolving human understanding, time grows to feel ever more transient? That its flow seems to be a current ever-increasing in speed? What provides explanations for why the closer I hold the present moment, tenderly loving it with my entire being, embracing it in its entirety, the sooner I realize Ive blinked it away; that my new lover is a new present which is destined to just as quickly transcend into memory? But ah, yes, change is genuinely the only constant, and Ive seemed to situate myself comfortably in the paradox of holding on as tight as I can while letting go with gentle surrender. Being content with this melancholy consideration of ever-shifting impermanent life is colored with the overtones that this too, shall pass.
