On the eve of this Thanksgiving I am keenly aware of just exactly how blessed I was to have a mother such as mine. Although I no longer have my father and unfortunately didnt have him around a whole lot as a kid, I was given the opportunity to spend quite a bit of time with him in the years prior to his diagnosis and eventual passing due to cancer. - thanks dad, for providing me with the power to know just exactly when to cut the bullshit as he would say. That most valuable lesson was provided by him and without it I may have not been able to have the ability to see others bullshit coming my way. And if course I see it, I am simply smart enough to not react to idiots or stupid mean hateful bullies. Of course, I am human and where love is involved for another-I am so damn blind. The debt I can never repay is the precious gift of my early years provided by my mother, who I now know without a doubt, would have climbed to the moon to ensure I had everything in life that I needed. It is to her that I owe who I am today, the person who I really always have been. I just see it better because I like what I see. That word love, well, it wasnt used a whole heck of a lot but somehow I always knew then, as I do now, just exactly how much of it she gave me. SO THANKS MOM - for the strength, the will, the fight, the spirit and the heart you have given me. I truly know what a loving parent gives, all while teaching a lesson of love.
