On the evening of May 1, Young Leaders from both the American Council on Germany and the Atlantik-Brücke joined together for a three-day conference of networking, team building, and transatlantic exchange. The conference, titled “Security in a Changing World,” was held in Leesburg, Virginia, and was attended by over 70 Young Leader Alumni. During the course of the three days, Young Leader alumni had the opportunity to engage in discussions and global scenario planning. Discussions included globalization of corporations and nations’ role in governing them, national disaster relief, and integration and assimilation issues. The goal of the activities was to find solutions to future challenges faced within a global world. After lively discussions in smaller groups, Young Leaders were asked to present their findings to the larger conference. The Young Leaders also took part in team building outdoor activities which included hiking and whitewater rafting.
