On the political front in Kenya, two issues stand juxtaposed, the opposition Cord, with an uphill task to collect one million signatures, lobby the Senate and Parliament, the houses in which theyre numerically challenged, to adopt a bill in support of the referendum exercise. The Jubilee coalition, with the President on a roll, whose hands-on leadership style begin to manifest itself, an indicator of control of the instruments of power, seem unstoppable! The only event that would scuttle the smooth ride, is NOT the scorching sun, the gashing wind or the tornado storm, its the bee! The ICC-prosecutor, Fatou Bensuda, compelled by the Court to within a week file a status report on commencement or discontinuation of the Uhuru trial is the do or die for Railas Cord. Should she opt to discontinue the Uhuru trial for whatever reason, Raila Odinga should personally pack his bag, make an emotional speech to his supporters and quietly exit the political scene to his Apoda farm. The political career of a great politician will thus have come to an end, by a decision made very far away from our midst.
