The utter insanity of some people just baffles my mind. I have a quick story to share with you guys. I recently got hired as a special response officer for a very large company. This position requires that I know every single post in a given area. Anyway, I have never been satisfied with being mediocre. My uniform, appearance, professionalism have been unmatched by a single person within this company that Ive seen. Several days ago I saw an opening for a operations supervisor and forwarded my resume and credentials to the branch manager. He tells me that one of his ops managers will interview me. A week later I get a call from that ops manager essentially telling me that Im not qualified for this position but he would be happy to interview me even though I am the least qualified out of all the candidates. I ask him to be specific and he rambles on some total bs. All I could do was laugh because the caliber of people Ive seen this far is piss poor to say the least. An operations supervisor is nothing more than a fancy name for a scheduler......which is very simple....but can be frustrating if you are not organized. So.....not to blow my own horn but Im a 12 year military veteran. I have a bachelors degree in Business. I have worked as an Operations Manager, A tasking Manager, Armed security, movement control.....2 tours in Afghanistan, Bosnia, Kosovo, Iraq, Kuwait, Qatar. I have letters of recommendation from Generals!!!!!!! Now you tell me am i qualified to do this job???? Would you hire me?? This ops manager acted as if my credentials and background meant absolutely nothing. If any of you are in a position to hire people, please evaluate each person based on the whole man concept. Chances are they already had someone that they liked to fill this position.....and if so , he could have just been honest.
