On the road to success, it is important to reflect on how far you have come. This will energize you to keep going, and "stop not, til the goal is reached". I was reminiscing only yesterday with my wife, Yoga, who has been an extremely strong influence in my life, how hard we worked in the early days - we had no staff and certainly no large budgets. When Yoga used to go shopping on Saturday, I used to put my four beautiful children in the car (they were very young at this time), and I used to drive around for at least half a day looking at properties everywhere. Needless to say, I had to bribe the kids with ice cream to convince my wife that they were "Sightseeing with Daddy"! I remember that to sell our properties in the early days, Yoga and I used to take furniture from our own home to make the properties look more appealing and saleable. I look back on these times fondly, because they all taught me the "value of a dollar" and that there is no shortcut to success. You cannot be "too proud" to do certain jobs, and you can never afford to think "I am too good or too qualified to do this". My staff all know that if I ever see some rubbish in the office, I will always pick it up, because if I do not do the small things, how on Earth could I expect my staff to ? Think of every single circumstance as a lesson to learn, whilst you are climbing the ladder to success and happiness. Also, be careful how you treat people on the way up, as you never know who you will meet on the way down.
