On the train to Castle Island Island in South Boston to say a final goodbye to a very special lady in my life. My moms best friend and my godmother, Winnie. Though we lost her over a year ago she will now be put to her final rest near a place she loved so much, her birthplace. My Mom and she took many weekend trips to Boston to visit her family. They always had a great shopping trip along the way. Stopping for breakfast at a restaurant that gave out free books, stopping at a Christmas tree store and always making sure they had a good lobster some where. So many of those trips were truly wonderful memories for my mom. It has been such a hard few years, having to day goodbye to so many important people in my life. But I am also grateful that they have all left my heart so full, so full that I continue to share their legacies with the next generation. And so grateful that I came from this beautiful family and that I am still blessed with such a beautiful family to love. I take this final journey to see Winnie with not only with my love, but I also carry my moms. Rest in peace sweet, sweet lady. I love you and will see you all again one day.
