On the way out the gate this morning I was greeted with a pickup load of someones garbage they dumped here last night. Ugh. Ok its off the road but in plain sight. Just keep going, went to a Sunday morning gathering of friends and ran into a buddy who is a retired Dr from the bay area. Who is in town for a few days. Afterwards I asked him to stop by and get a bag of smoked salmon. He was more than happy to. He is a Harvard graduate and was telling me about a book that just came out by Malcolm Gladwell called David and Goliath. And how he unknowingly played a part of the study that the book was about. Based on the kind of student he was while at Harvard over 50 years ago. The story reminded me enough of my nephew Cory Matson that after he left with his smoked salmon. I called Cory to tell him about the book. Hes going to read it. Then he said he went diving yesterday and got a limit of abalone and wanted to give me one of them. Wow. Sure says Me. I havnt Had an an abalone dinner in years. So now Ive invited some friends over for dinner who have never had abalone before and I realized I better clean the house first. Then I saw how much garbage was ready to go to the dump and thought yea with the new addition to the load of garbage laying out by the gate I probably have a full load. Then I wont have to look at it every time I go in and out the driveway and my guest wont either. Kind of funny how all this got tied into a good day along with good friends to have dinner with and a clean house to boot. Just because some jerk dumped his junk in my driveway. Some days You cant give it away faster than it comes back to you. Thanks God
