On their third full day of encampment, the students were busy from sunrise to sunset. Waking up for their regular morning routine of PT and barracks time, the students were also put on personal time (which many of them wisely used to work with their team and organize their wall lockers). After breakfast, the cadets were split into groups in which they loaded vans for their morning tour. This tour took them either to an Army Sustainment Brigade (vehicle maintenance warehouse, motor pool) to learn about what Army mechanics do, or to Gray Army Air Field for a tour of Army aviation facilities. On this tour, the cadets learned about opportunities as an Army pilot, walked on the flightline, toured the hangars, and even got up close with some of the helicopters. After these exciting tours, the students returned to the quad for a quick lunch, before heading back out to the vans for the tour that they had not yet experienced. As the groups switched, each student had a chance to experience both opportunities. All of the tour action ended before 17:00, at which point the students ate dinner and marched to the classroom where they took a Drug Demand Reduction (DDR) class. DDR teaches cadets ways to live a drug free lifestyle, and educates them on the risk of drug use both personally, and among close acquaintances. After an adventurous day, the students went to personal time and subsequently rested at 21:00.
