On third-party spoilers: Unless there is empirical data like exit polls, then its pointless to argue over who Libertarian voters *would have* voted for if they didnt have a (L) candidate on the ballot...HOWEVER...I do want the Libertarian Party to hear this: IF YOURE GOING TO BE A CANDIDATE, THEN WORK FOR IT, DAMNIT!!! See, my grievance isnt with the idea of having a freedom-loving candidate on the ballot (quite the contrary, actually), but too many third party candidates get on the ballot and then dont campaign at all, or at least not at all effectively, and to the rest of us, that makes it look like they either dont know their ideals, arent courageous enough to defend them, or theyre just running to spite the major parties. In all cases, those candidates are their own worst enemies: They cant promote freedom if they cant communicate why it works and take that message to the voters, they cant fight a progressive machine if they cant persuade a single precinct, and they cant beat the major parties by being just as shallowly-partisan you claim we are. If youre not satisfied with that, then please google this: Approval Voting.
