On this National Weathermans Day...I always like to give thanks to the entire meteorological community for their contributions to the inexact science that we all strive to make a little more exact every day. And give special thanks and recognition to those that have had a positive influence on my life and career. Matt Noyes: Broadcast Meteorologist My best friend, Cornell classmate, meteorological mentor, colleague, and best man in my upcoming wedding. Mark Searles Wjar An internship with Mark, and growing up watching him in Rhode Island, furthered my passion for weather and drive to become a broadcast meteorologist. Karl Bohnak My first chief meteorologist I worked for in Upper Michigan, who gave me the opportunity to pursue my weather dreams with my first on-air job. Jim Eberwine: The wizard of South Jersey weather...no one is more respected here than Jim, with his decades of experience and willingness to impart the accrued wisdom on this New England transplant so eager to learn. No one has taught me more about South Jersey weather than Jim. Mark Wysocki: My meteorologist professor at Cornell, who simply went by the name Wysocki and single handedly made that program special to every student. Hes the reason I recommend Cornell to aspiring meteorologists. Meteorologist Danielle Niles The newest addition to this list(and our wedding party)...the sunshine in the lives of those people most important to me...and the brightest Boston meteorologist when the weather turns wicked... Of course this list could go on to include every meteorologist Ive had the pleasure of working with over the years...as I learned something from every single one:) A happy weathermans day to all!
