On this day in 1971, the United Nations voted to seat Red China and expel Taiwan. Dont ever believe that the U.N. is really a truly independent association of forward-thinking countries with peace and human rights at the forefront. Most of the countries of this world have statist, abusive governments, and those governments are represented in the U.N. by people you would expect such governments to appoint.
