On this day in 1984, The Rev Marvin Gaye Sr. was sentenced to five years in prison for the manslaughter of his son, Marvin Gaye. Perhaps the finest male vocalist of all-time and certainly one of the most celebrated soul artists ever, Gaye is more than a legend and his talent will shine forever.
