On this day in 2006-- the love of my life flew in from Alaska for a 2 week visit. I was so nervous and excited to see him again. If you know US you know the rest of OUR story-- a worldwind of craziness happened over the next few months-- he stayed longer than 2 weeks, we moved all his things from Alaska- we took an 18 day road trip across the USA to get him here and a few months later I decided to retire--we began to build business, a home and life together. We were equally yoked spiritually~ we love the Lord and put him first-- we were married... Here we are 2013. Many things have changed since that day in 2006-- My father had been gone right at 10 years when Cliff Sommerville came down here. I wonder if he ever really thought about what he was getting in to... besides a relationship with me, he so graciously took on the relationship with my mom, and with Stephani Imhoff... There was land that needed to be cleared, repairs that needed to be made, bridges to be taken down, fences to mend, roads to fix-- I could go on and on. He never has done anything for her (my mom) with a disgruntled heart. He only knew my father for a few years as a young man, but his friendship with my dad-- and the relationship my father had for the Sommerville family- made an impression on my husband to do these things for my mom, a widow. The land, the shops, her home-- all needed repairs. He has helped us all so much since he came here in 2006. From replacing floors, fixing plumbing-- painting-- vehicle repairs-- I could go on and on. I cant even begin to get started in the ways he has helped so many-- even to this very moment as I am typing-- him helping Stephani with her life and the kids. He is more organized than me, (which doesnt take much) he is an innovative thinker and doer-- he sees things and situations for how they really are. Many people have taken advantage of his good and sweet heart (sweathard) since he has been here. But he keeps trudging through. We have had our ups and downs, but I know that myself and my mom (and steph) are so blessed to have him. I know he will continually be blessed for all the good he has done. Cliff and I are Christ Followers-- When I think of him and all the good he does I think of the Beatitudes (which should be Be attitudes) we know we know many people who dont believe the way we do-- but his endless working and helping others-- always takes my heart to this passage. regardless of your belief-- I think if you read this passage, you will see how Cliff comes to my mind : The Beatitudes 3 “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 4 Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. 5 Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth. 6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. 7 Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy. 8 Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. 9 Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God. 10 Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 11 “Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. 12 Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you. I hope everyone has a GREAT and Blessed Friday and have positive attitudes and do wonderful and great things for others. On this day in 2006 I had a very different attitude-- I am so thankful that this man was put back in my life-- I am blessed beyond measure~ love you Cliff! I want to be you when I grow up :-)
