On this day, which would have been my mothers 93rd birthday, I try to think of some of the good things that she did for me, for she did many, many things wrong trying to raise a child like me. I just now realize, however, that she is the one that instilled the love of music in me as I hum an old song from very deep within my mind, from an album she bought me as a child full old folk songs that pop up every now and then and get me to singing. So thank you, ma, and happy birthday, Betty Lou (aka Joanne). It is also the birthday of my sister, Patti Jo, also taken too soon from us.
