On this poignant date when the centenary of the declaration of hostilities at the beginning of the Great War is marked, Linfield FC recalls with pride and solemnity the service and the sacrifice of the Linfield players and supporters who dutifully answered the call - many never to return home again and many to return home injured and scarred.
