Once I learnt how to differentiate between the sounds of different birds, the soundtrack of my life in Cairo has drastically changed for the better. Through the bitter noises of cars, generators, water pumps, and people yelling, comes this beautiful orchestra of birds. The different species come together to create a magnificent ensemble that keeps my head up in the skies, looking for the colors that continue to flood my ears. And be warned, once an unfamiliar sound finds its way into the ensemble, I enter this silent frenzy, twitching right and left, trying to put a face to the voice. This post will surely attract more of the hippy labels. But I swear to you, this new soundtrack to my life in Cairo is a constant reminder that we havent destroyed everything. That theres more to Cairo than meets the eyes, and ears. Spring has been kind :)
