“Once Jibreel (alaihis salam) came to the Messenger of Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) and asked: ‘Muawiya bin Muawiya al-Muzni has passed away. Would you like to perform the funeral prayers for him?’ “(The Messenger of Allah consented) so Jibreel (alaihis salam) beat his wing due to which no tree nor curtain remained in the middle and his body came before the Messenger of Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) such that he saw him and prayed the funeral prayers over him and two rows of angels also offered funeral prayers over him. Each row had seventy thousand angels in it. “The Messenger of Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) asked Jibreel (alaihis salam): ‘O Jibreel, due to which deed has he (Muawiya bin Muawiya) acquired this status with Allah?’ “Jibreel (alaihis salam) answered: ‘Due to his love for Qul Huwallahu Ahad and his constant recitation of it - coming, going, standing, sitting (has he been granted this rank with Allah).’” [Kanzul Ummal] Allah (subhana wa ta’ala) loves Surah Ikhlas because it states His oneness, His uniqueness, and His total independence of all that He created. When we love this Surah we acknowledge Allah’s true Lordship over all that He created.
