Once a friend posted on his wall, asking not to share "strong" - TopicsExpress

Once a friend posted on his wall, asking not to share "strong" pictures with him, of children killed, malnourished, tortured, massacred people, hunger, and more. He wrote that it is his right not to be "persecuted" and upset with these images, and that if he wanted to see her look alone. I thought long and hard about this, and on one side I agree, at least in part, with the right to non-intrusiveness, but on the other hand ....... I wonder, perhaps, that prevents not see things happen? If we close our eyes and do not look, people will stop killing? There will be no more wars, murder, infanticide, torture? Or perhaps our alleged sensitivity is just an excuse to ignore our guilt?
